OKTOBERFEST BEDS: Looking for a bed for the Munich Oktoberfest? Munich hotels and hostels always jack up their prices as Oktoberfest nears, often to up to three or four times what they usually charge for their rooms. You can get around this (to some dregee anyway) by booking as far ahead as you can. I’ve done my fair share of travelling over the past 10 years or so and I know from experience that it pays to book ahead. When there’s a big event like Oktoberfest happening in a city, it’s pretty much essential.
