Munich Streetlife Festival

The Munich Streetlife Festival transforms part of the city into one of Europe's biggest outdoor parties.

Next on: Usually end of May, and early September - May event has been called off for 2020, Sept probably will be too.
Twice a year, the entire population of Munich moves outside.
At least that’s what it must seem like to anyone who visits during the biannual Munich Streetlife Festival, the city’s biggest street party.
Munich’s main boulevard, Ludwig Strasse/Leopold Strasse, is closed off to traffic and, for a few days at least, the stretch becomes one of Europe’s biggest outdoor shopping, strolling and doing-whatever-the-heck-you-like stretch.
Hundreds of vendors set up offering just about every kind of food and drink you can think of from bratwurst to bami goreng.

You can even pick up a unique souvenir from one of the stands offering hand crafted gifts.
There’s also quite a strong social information aspect to this festival.
You can find out about upcoming urban design projects, environmental issues and public transport programs like Munich’s city bike project.
There are also stages hosting live bands and random other attractions like a skate/BMX ramp.
This is an occasion to relax, explore and just enjoy summer life.
