Oktoberfest beer stein

WHAT A MUG: A detail of the illustrations on the anniversary Oktoberfest stein.

Organisers are releasing a commemorative beer stein for the 200th anniversary.

With a hefty price tag of €33 (about US$43) it’s clear they’re going after the “collectors market” as just about everyone I know would prefer to spend the dosh on the stuff that goes in the mug instead.

The vessel sure looks nice though.
It pictures King Ludwig I and Princes Therese (the couple who’s wedding spawned the first fest) and there’s a nice tin cap to boot.
